CARES grant invests $750K in Âé¶¹´å efforts to help small businesses recover from pandemic

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration announced a $749,810 CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the University Corporation at Âé¶¹´å on Thursday, April 8. The grant will provide technical assistance to coronavirus-impacted small businesses and support the economic resiliency of the Âé¶¹´å region. It is expected to create 35 jobs, retain 200 jobs, and generate $3 million in private investment, a news release.

Longtime Âé¶¹´å counseling center employee named Social Worker of Year

The Monterey County Unit of the National Association of Social Workers has honored Lynne White Dixon, clinical supervisor at Âé¶¹´å’s Personal Growth and Counseling Center, as 2021 Social Worker of the Year. The award presentation took place at an event on March 12 celebrating National Social Work Month.
