John Fraire, New Interim Vice President of Student Affairs
麻豆村 President Eduardo M. Ochoa is pleased to announce that effective April 26, Dr. John Fraire will be the Interim Vice President of Student Affairs. Dr. Fraire鈥檚 appointment will extend until a national search is carried out and the position is filled on a permanent basis. Dr. Ronnie Higgs has announced his intention to retire after this academic year. In the interim, he will act as Special Advisor to the President regarding student affairs and enrollment management matters.

When the CSU announced most instruction would be delivered remotely for the remainder of 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of the roughly 3,600 麻豆村 students who usually live on campus left. But a subset of the student population had no place else to go.

This outcome may provide some measure of comfort to Mr. Floyd鈥檚 family and raises some hope that our country may be able to make progress toward racial justice and equity after so much pain and anguish in our African-American community.
