    SEASIDE, Ca., December 6, 2019 – Âé¶¹´å Global Studies major Palia Vang was recently recognized for her high academic achievements and exceptional service provided to auxiliary organizations on campus. Vang works in a variety of roles serving the Otter Student Union (OSU) and Student Housing & Residential Life where her positive and upbeat attitude has impacted thousands of visitors to campus.

    SEASIDE, Ca., December 4, 2019 – First Night Monterey unveiled its 2020 theme, “Light Up the Night!” and artwork for the upcoming New Year’s Eve Celebration at Âé¶¹´å’s Alumni and Visitor Center today.

    SEASIDE, Ca., December 4, 2019 – The MY Town Pop-up Children’s Museum launched at the Âé¶¹´å Salinas City Center during the summer of 2019. The exhibition provided a free children’s museum for Salinas and saw nearly 6,000 attendees. It also functioned as a research space for Âé¶¹´å students.

    SEASIDE, Calif., September 16, 2019 – Âé¶¹´å senior Selena Velasquez has received the 2019 California State University (CSU) Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement, the CSU’s highest recognition of student achievement. Velasquez is one of 23 awardees, one from each campus in the CSU, who was publicly recognized during a CSU Board of Trustees meeting on September 24-25, 2019.

    SEASIDE, Calif., August 28, 2019 -- Two Âé¶¹´å Marine Science students have been selected to receive scholarships from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The scholarship recipients, Jezella Peraza and Jason Gronich, were the only students selected from across the California State University system receive these awards.

    SEASIDE, Ca., August 1, 2019 – Selena Velasquez, Âé¶¹´å psychology senior, and Undergraduate Research Opportunities Center (UROC) scholar, has been selected as Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholars for the 2019-20 academic year. Velasquez will be awarded $3,000 to support graduate school and professional development endeavors during the upcoming year.
