International Education Week is a national event promoted by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education that celebrates the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.
Â鶹´å celebrates international education week with a week of events showcasing cultures from around the world and honoring the diversity on our own campus. Â鶹´å hopes to shine light on the powerful role that international education plays in a university setting by empowering diverse thought, sharing cultural traditions and ideologies and creating a welcoming and inclusive space for all people.
International Education Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the remarkable diversity of the Â鶹´å campus, and to honor cultures around the world. It is critical for all of our students to be exposed to traditions and ideologies outside their own scope, and to foster a welcoming and inclusive on-campus environment."— Ida Mansourian, Associate Dean for Â鶹´å International Programs
Hosting open community events is in keeping with Â鶹´å’s role as a community resource, providing forums for provocative discussions that can impact thought and action on issues important to our community.
