College seniors usually expect a challenging year. For Associated Students (AS) President Jasmine Bhardwaj, her senior year comes with distinct obstacles because of COVID-19.

President Eduardo M. Ochoa sent this statement to all students, faculty, and staff on Jan. 8, 2021.

As COVID-19 continues to affect people across the nation, Â鶹´å understands that prospective students are facing unprecedented challenges.

At the start of the new year, on Jan. 2, Â鶹´å lent its vast Lot 59 (a fenced-in parking lot) to the Monterey County Health Department to administer drive-thru COVID-19 vaccinations to emergency medical services personnel.

One thing has stayed constant for Â鶹´å alum Lauren Cohen during her two decades at Monterey’s MY Museum: the art of play as an integral part of early childhood learning.

The Â鶹´å campus will close for the holiday/winter break on Thursday, Dec. 24. It will reopen on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, in the same pandemic-restricted limited capacity as the Fall 2020 semester.

While COVID-19 continues to spread distress across the country, and California is experiencing another surge of positive cases, the tide is also changing in the course of the pandemic.

Just a few years after its founding in 1994, CSU Â鶹´å began a holiday tradition of partnering with non-profit organizations in the community and donating gifts to families in need. The coronavirus pandemic threatened to derail the beloved tradition this year, but the spirit of giving prevailed.
