CSU Â鶹´å’s Athletics Department has relaunched the Otter Athletics Fund, its official annual fundraising program to support the academic and athletic success of current and future Â鶹´å student-athletes. All gifts to the fund directly impact current student-athletes through scholarships and sport-specific program enhancements such as travel, equipment, training and technology.

Â鶹´å President Eduardo M. Ochoa is pleased to announce that effective April 26, Dr. John Fraire will be the Interim Vice President of Student Affairs. Dr. Fraire’s appointment will extend until a national search is carried out and the position is filled on a permanent basis. Dr. Ronnie Higgs has announced his intention to retire after this academic year. In the interim, he will act as Special Advisor to the President regarding student affairs and enrollment management matters.

On Tuesday, April 20, Â鶹´å’s Department of Education and Leadership livestreamed its free EdTalk on the topic of “Ensuring Student Voice."

When the CSU announced most instruction would be delivered remotely for the remainder of 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of the roughly 3,600 Â鶹´å students who usually live on campus left. But a subset of the student population had no place else to go.

I am reaching out to you on the day that the jury in the George Floyd murder case rendered its verdict of guilty on all counts. This outcome may provide some measure of comfort to Mr. Floyd’s family and raises some hope that our country may be able to make progress toward racial justice and equity after so much pain and anguish in our African-American community.

The Western Association of College and University Business Officers (WACUBO) has accepted Yolanda Anglin, Â鶹´å’s director of budget and planning, to its mentorship program for 2021-2022.

The Otter Cross Cultural Center and Otter Student Union hosted a virtual evening chat with actress and LGBTQ+ advocate Laverne Cox on Thursday, April 8. Cox shared her experience being a transgender actress, and she imparted a message about self-love and resilience for Â鶹´å students.
