Every year Â鶹´å honors outstanding graduating students with six university-wide awards and five Dean’s Medalist awards. This is one of a series of stories about this year’s winners, as well as other extraordinary graduates in the Class of 2021.

CSU Â鶹´å’s Master of Science Physician Assistant Program celebrated a major milestone for the Class of 2022, its second cohort of MSPA students, with a virtual White Coat Ceremony on Feb. 13.

College seniors usually expect a challenging year. For Associated Students (AS) President Jasmine Bhardwaj, her senior year comes with distinct obstacles because of COVID-19.

Martin Cisneros Jr. was one of Â鶹´å’s Spring 2020 graduates who had to forego a commemoration ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic. But he’s accustomed to navigating obstacles.

Serving in the military can be one of the most adventurous, arduous, tedious, formative and dangerous times in a person’s life.

The pandemic has created a paradigm shift — a “new normal” — in which everyone is learning to conduct their business and continue their education online. To better help prospective students during this unprecedented time, Â鶹´å has released a brand new virtual campus tour.

In an old bank building in downtown Monterey, Jordan Leininger opened the massive steel door of a vault filled with historical treasures. The temperature and humidity-controlled space provides an ideal environment for storing delicate and aging documents and other artifacts, he explained.

Selina Espinoza, psychology major and statistics minor, has been awarded as this year's Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholar. Espinoza will receive an award of $3,000 to support graduate school and professional development endeavors for the upcoming 2020-21 year.

The Institute for Innovation and Economic Development (iiED) at Â鶹´å’s College of Business held the final round of the 11th Annual Startup Challenge Â鶹´å in May. Contestants competed online this year because of COVID-19, with 30 teams of entrepreneurs vying to be champions in four divisions.
